Chiropractic, is a manual procedure using professionally trained skills developed through extensive years of chiropractic education.

A chiropractor typically uses his or her hands — or an instrument — to manipulate the joints of the body, especially the spine, in order to restore or enhance joint function. This often helps to solve the problem of arthritis and reduces the patient’s pain. Chiropractic treatment is a completely controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. An orthopedic doctor adjusts procedures to meet the specific needs of each patient. Often patients notice positive changes in the signs and symptoms of the disease immediately after treatment.

Adjusting (or manipulating) the joint may release a gas bubble between the joints, making a popping sound. The same thing happens when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by a change in pressure within the joint, which causes gas bubbles to be released. There is usually little, if any, discomfort.
